And finally...

Farewell to 6th class 2017; we will miss you.
Here's a final few photos from assembly and playground.
Best wishes also to Nili, Ben, Ruairi and Conor as they leave us.

Duathalon champs!

Well done to the boys and girls from 6th who participated in the 6 week Tri-Heroes programme in school which gave the children a taste of training for a triathlon event.
We went to the pitch on Monday where several schools joined us for a duathlon (2-sport event).
Despite the intense heat, the children competed well and all came home with medals; a few received certificates for getting placed; and all returned with a great sense of satisfaction and pride.

Trip to Cavan town

Last Thursday, we took the day off school to explore our town.
We started off with a part of the walking tour of Cavan; following the blue plaques around the town and reading the information about each spot.
Fr. Kevin gave us a very interesting tour of the cathedral, high up and low down! We got to visit the crypt where several bishops are buried; as well as walking  above the ceiling to look down on the dome. A short ladder climb gave us an amazing view of Cavan from a height.
We then made our way to the playground where we had icepops and photos with our own papparazzi! The photo of the girls was printed in The Anglo Celt that week!

Rugby blitz

Huge thanks to Salesi, Andrew, Malcom and all at Cavan Rugby club for organising the blitz today.
Killygarry footed 4 teams and enjoyed varying levels of success on the pitch.
A great day out was had and we returned to school with a new kitbag of rugby balls, bibs and cones.
